Giorgos Michailidis was born in Georgia, in 1990. He studied at National and Kapodistrian university of Athens, department of Music studies. As a child he got inspired by his family and especially from his father who used to play garmon. He played piano and lyre of Pontos (kementze) since he was 8 years old and he started studying music theory and harmony. In 2002, he started playing violin and since then it became his basic instrument. He also taken courses of Byzantine music and canun.
During his stay in Veria, his teacher was Marina Gorgatse and the next few years he had many teachers on the violin, including Romeos Avlastimidis. His first live show was in 2004, in the city of Veria, where he played violin and lyre of the Black Sea & Pontos.
The last few years he has cooperated with many artists such as Antonis Vardis, Stamatis Gonidis, Areti Ketime, Konstantinos and Mathaios Tsahouridis, Makis Dimakis, Petros Iakovidis, Lefteris Zervas, Lefteris Pantazis, Tamta, Ria Ellinidou, Natasa Theodoridou, Zafeiris Melas, Makis Christodoulopoulos, Manos Ahalinotopoulos, Stauros Pazaretzis, Vasilis Saleas, Kostas Anastasiadis, Thodoris Ferris, Sarit Hadad, Eyal Golan, Shlomi Shabat, Idan Rachel, Dilek Koc , Stathis Nikolaidis, Giorgos kai Lazos Ioannidi and several others.
At the present time he is playing with the bands Loxandra, Valkania Project and Vstrings and for the last 10 years he is working with the most popular artist in Greece Nikos Vertis and his band. He has participated in multiple festivals and concerts of modern, pop and traditional music in Greece, Israel, Canada, America, Australia and many other Countries all over the world. He has also took part in several recordings for many albums, as for example ‘’Erotevmenos’’ and ‘’Tha zografiso ti zoi mou me mpogies’’.
